My running and beer drinking Friday night
For those who don’t know, most runners love and I mean really love beer. I can’t tell you how many races I’ve done over the years that have post race beer tents or are sponsored by a brewery. Just check out any Michelob Ultra ad these days and you will get the idea. There’s actually a race in Idaho called Race-to-Robbie Creek Half-Marathon where, in 2008, roughly 2400 runners drained 30 kegs at a post race party! Now that’s race. I found out last week that a good friend and training/racing partner is moving to Boulder, Co. It seemed fitting to round-up the fellas, hit the trails for a few hours and then finish the night in one of the many great beer joints in Nashville.

Imperial Whites
I decided to try something a little different this past weekend when I paired up two imperial wheat beers in a head to head match up. I have tried both Sam Adams Imperial Wheat and Fort Collins Imperial India Wheat Ale on two separate occasions and I thought they were unique, fantastic beers. They needed to be compared against each other.

Craft Beer on the rise - Hat Trick Brewing an emerging brand
In the last few months I have read an increasing amount of articles highlighting how craft beer sales continue to grow despite the economic down turn most of the country has been experiencing over the past few years. According to the Brewer’s Association, “Dollar growth up 15% in first six months of 2011.” Here are some links to different articles from the Brewers Association, Forbes, and Ohio.com that all talk about the steady growth of craft beer. In fact there are many new breweries coming to the market each year. One of 725 for this year is Hat Trick Brewing out of St. Louis, MO.
